Dubai: A man’s driving licence was suspended and he incurred 120 black points all at once after he was caught driving recklessly and risking people’s lives in Dubai.

Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Dubai Traffic Police, said that the man was showing off his “driving skills” in a way that endangered road users in Al Marmoom and Al Awir.

The man was seen — in the video posted by Dubai Police’s Instagram account — driving recklessly on two wheels of his 4x4 vehicle, and another video shows the car being towed away by Dubai Police.

Col Al Mazroui said that the man was issued 14 fines for seven infringements, as he was fined twice for each because he was seen breaking the law twice.

The fines were for driving recklessly, driving a vehicle without number plates, driving in a way that is dangerous to the public, modifying the vehicle’s engine without permission, driving a noisy vehicle, exceeding the permitted level of car window tinting, and fleeing from a traffic policeman.

“No one is above the law, and respecting the law is part of a person’s respect for himself and the other road users.” Col Al Mazroui said.

He added that Dubai Police rejects such shameless acts that infringe on other road users, and are committed to keeping the roads safe.

Col Al Mazroui said the man abused the fact that his car had tinted windows and had no number plates to try and evade the police, but he was later caught after being tracked and filmed.

Col Al Mazroui urged the public to report anyone who breaks traffic laws, either by calling 901 or 8007777 or 8004353 or through email on mail@dubaipolice.gov.ae.

People can also report anyone breaking Dubai’s traffic law on the Dubai Police website or through Dubai Police’s smartphone app under “we are all police”.
