Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi residents will be able to park their vehicles free of charge between November 30 and December 4, the emirate’s transport authority announced in a statement on Tuesday.

The free parking applies to all surface-level parking in the emirate from midnight on November 30 until 8am on December 4, the Integrated Transport Centre at Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport has said.

The move has been taken in commemoration of Martyrs’ Day and the UAE National Day.

Motorists are advised to follow residential parking regulations, which come into force between 9pm and 8pm every day.

In addition, all transportation customer service centre will be closed between November 30 and December 3. The centres will reopen on December 4. However, the authority’s call centre will continue to operate 24 hours a day, and can be accessed by dialling 80088888.

Free parking in Dubai

In Dubai, parking will be free for four days from November 30 to December 3 on the occasion of the 46th UAE National Day holidays, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Monday.

The RTA also announces working hours for service outlets include customers’ happiness centres, public buses, Dubai metro and tram, marine transit modes, driving schools and vehicle testing and registration centres.

Customers Happiness Centres will be closed during the Prophet’s Birthday, Commemoration Day and National Day holidays from Thursday 30 November 2017 and resume duty on Monday 4 December 2017.
