Fire destroys warehouse in Sharjah

Sharjah: A huge fire destroyed a warehouse in Sharjah’s industrial area on Friday afternoon, said Lieutenant-Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqabi, Director-General of the emirate’s Civil Defence.

Al Naqabi said the fire broke out at 3.10pm in Industrial Area 13. The warehouse contains commercial advertisements. Firefighters from Sharjah headquarters, Muwailih, Samnan and Al Mina were involved in controlling the blaze. He said: “We immediately took the necessary precautions to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent warehouses.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No casualties have been reported.
