Dubai: A Filipino sales executive suffering from advanced stage of multiple cancer is seeking financial help to settle a hospital bill and undergo a series of radiation treatments.
Last September, Josephine Lagman Dizon, 51, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. In June, she was also diagnosed by Dubai Hospital with a ‘brain metastasis’ – a type of cancer which spreads to the brain from another location in the body.
“I was having a lot of pain in my head and neck. When I went to Dubai Hospital for a check up, they said that my cancer has spread to the brain,” said a tearful Josephine, a sales executive.
A copy of Josephine’s medical report is with XPRESS stating her medical condition.
“Dubai Hospital advised me to undergo brain radiation therapy, however, the hospital does not have a radiation therapy facility. They said I will have to go to another hospital,” she said.
Josephine, however, has an outstanding Dh2,500 bill. She also needs money to pay for her radiation treatments. “I work as a sales executive earning a monthly salary of Dh5,400. I cannot afford to pay for these treatments,” she said.
Josephine is a single mother and her 14-year-old daughter studies in Grade 10 in Philippines. “I will be very grateful for any help that I can receive,” said Josephine.
