Dubai: If you are big, portly, bulging at the waistline, have a long flowing beard and love to punctuate your talk with a ‘Ho Ho Ho’, you might just be the right candidate for the world’s merriest job.
Fairmont, The Palm, has launched a global hunt for Santa. Come December, the selected candidate will have a job at the Grotto, amusing little kids and chuckling to himself as he hands our Yuletide greetings and more.
The hotel spokesperson said the ideal candidate must have certain key skill sets such as “a jolly disposition, must be compatible with elves, must have a certain-sized waistline, a minimum length of white beard and of course, must ooze festive flair …”
The hotel has invited potential Santa candidates to upload their 30-second video application tagging #MyDubaiSanta #FairmontThePalm to Instagram or Facebook by October 30 stating why they would make the perfect Santa in their full Santa outfit. The winner will be selected shortly after.
While remuneration for the job has not been specified, the chosen Santa will win an all-inclusive trip to Dubai, staying at Fairmont, The Palm for three weeks between December 5 and 26, where in between a few hours of Santa work per day, he and a guest of his choice will enjoy a memorable stay with a return flight from their home destination, said the hotel spokesperson.
So if you feel you are really cut out to chuckling 24/7 and gorging on Christmas cookies as you shake hands of toddlers this Christmas, do try your luck.
