Dubai resident wins Dh7m in raffle draw

Abu Dhabi: An Indian man living in Dubai got a welcome morning surprise after he was announced as the latest monthly Big Ticket winner, scooping up Dh7 million and becoming an instant millionaire.

“I can’t believe it,” said a shocked Thansilas Babu when organisers of the raffle draw called him up to give him the good news. Babu purchased his winning ticket no. 030202 last month, according to the organisers.

Held at Abu Dhabi Airport every month, the Big Ticket Draw is the UAE’s largest and longest-running monthly raffle draw, with tickets costing Dh500.

Next month’s draw promises to be even bigger with a Dh12 million jackpot.
