Dubai: The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) announced deploying two emergency bicycles in City Walk to respond to medical emergencies that may rise.

The well-equipped emergency bicycles will ensure speedy response to any situation that occurs throughout the day, said Khalifa Bin Drai, DCAS’s executive director.

“In busy areas like City Walk, we require cycle responders in order to provide fast, effective medical assistance to patients,” said Bin Drai. “DCAS pays close attention to the needs of people through observations made by our paramedics, drivers and Dubai Police including recommendations by the Dubai Health Authority on the needs of certain areas in Dubai.”

Bin Drai said that based on data they receive on busy areas such as shopping malls and commercial places, they adopt and deploy the cycle responders.

“These are places where emergency cases are more likely to occur because they are highly crowded. This is why we have to be present in these areas, to provide a rapid response on the site and also rescue children and elderly people who can face any medical emergencies,” he said.

He added that DCAS always keeps pace with the Dubai government, by implementing modern projects in line with its vision and mission in serving the society.
