Dubai: As many as 1.5 million visitors are expected to visit Downtown Dubai to usher in the New Year, leading authorities to issue a cautionary message on what pathways should be taken for bachelors and families.

As illustrated in the video, certain pathways and passages have allocated to families. The families’ pathway is highlighted in yellow, while the pathways for bachelors is coloured red.
While the Light Up 2018 event is open to the public, “separate viewing areas have been also allocated for bachelors and families,” said the announcer in the video, as the diagram explains the different routes allocated from the Dubai Mall and Financial Centre metro stations.

The video also illustrated the various viewing locations, with the Burj Khalifa Island Park, and the South Ridge reserved for families while the Burj Views is dedicated for bachelors. Families and customers at restaurants can watch the Light Show from Dubai Boulevard, Burj Plaza and Souk Al Bahar.
On its Twitter account, Dubai Ambulance also posted a video of how it is preparing for the New Year’s celebrations, under the hashtags #Dubai and #MyDubaiNewYear.

First aid services, lost and found services, and logistics, will also be available across sites in tents.
Light Up 2018
The Light Up 2018 celebrations will kick off at 5pm starting with The Dubai Fountain shows and live deejay, and continue till 1am. Members of the public are urged to be at the venue by 6pm.
The spectacle in Downtown Dubai is also set to break a world record in the celebrations category.
Property develop Emaar said the Light Up 2018 spectacle will celebrate the UAE’s achievements and also pay tribute to the founding father of the nation, the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to mark the Year of Zayed in 2018.
The festivities will span Downtown Dubai with Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, taking centre stage “with a never-before marvel”.
