Dubai: Pakistan Youth Forum, the youth wing of the Pakistan Association Dubai, organised an education and career fair on Saturday to match school and university students with leading employers and varsities.
The fair, divided into three areas — university booths, mentor booths and activity corner — acclimatised students from grade 9 onwards with higher education and career opportunities in the country.
The event also saw more than 200 community members taking the opportunity to connect with universities and young people.
Major universities like American University of Sharjah, Heriot-Watt University Dubai, SZABIST Dubai, COTHM Dubai, Modul University and Skyline University College participated in the fair.
Mentor booths consisted of young people of the community from different career paths — architecture and design, engineering, business, entrepreneurship, medicine and dentistry, accounting and finance, media and pure sciences — who came together to give hands-on tips and advice to students to explore more options and choose subjects and careers that resonated with them.
In addition to higher education and career advice, the fair included several fun activities including photography, sketching, calligraphy and personality and aptitude tests to help them develop passion and hobbies which are as integral as choosing a career path.
