Sharjah: Police in Sharjah Monday announced that cannons will be fired to help people know iftar times at locations across the emirate during Ramadan.
Cannons will be set up at the roundabout in front of the Cultural Palace in Al Falaj area, near Al Sarri Mosque in Al Jarina area, at Al Noor Mosque in Al Buheira Corniche, at Talaa Mosque, Bara Bin Azib Mosque in Al Murqab area, as well as at the Mussalah in Al Badiah and Al Huda Mosque at Al Khan.
In the Eastern Region, cannons will be fired near Al Bukhari Mosque on Khor Fakkan Corniche, Tarif Mosque in Kalba and near Shaikh Rashid Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi Mosque at Dibba Al Hosn, while in Al Dhaid it will be fired in front of the police station.
"Sharjah Government will also be distributing meals to those attending the cannon firing this year," a police official said while making the announcement.
