Awqaf Foundation receives Dh6m in zakat funds

Dubai: The Awqaf and Minor Affairs Foundation received zakat funds of Dh6.2 million in 2014. The zakat funds are devided into cash and investments in property stocks and bonds.

The foundation is sponsoring a total of 2,001 minors and others from different categories that deserve zakat. In 2014, some 500 minors benefited from zakat which was in the form of material aid, housing, health and education assistance, as well as money spent in emergency cases.
