Dubai: Al Futtaim Carillion announced the launch of an endowment for maintenance to support needy families. This endowment will be managed in coordination with a philanthropy society to be revealed at a later stage.

The initiative was launched following an interaction between Al Futtaim Carillion and the global vision for endowment, which was launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to revive the practice of endowment through innovative applications.

The concept of maintenance endowment through efforts and resources comes from Al Futtaim Carillion in coordination with the Mohammad Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC) to strengthen the utilisation of endowment through innovative applications into projects that are not necessarily confined to traditional frameworks.

Based on this initiative, Al Futtaim Carillion will receive the Dubai Endowment Sign from the MBRGCEC, one of the key initiatives under the Mohammad Bin Rashid Global Initiatives, in recognition of their contribution to the community as a model for private sector enterprises.

“This vision has proved itself as tool to revive endowment through innovation. Through the maintenance endowment, we will utilise part of our resources and efforts to help needy families,” said Andrew Ridley Barker, managing director, Al Futtaim Carillion.

He added that the endowment sign will encourage other private sector companies to support community through innovative endowment.

Dr Hamad Al Hammady, secretary-general of the centre, said the website — www.MBRgcec.ae — is ready to receive enquiries from all interested individuals and organisations wishing to obtain the Dubai Endowment Sign.

The centre will also provide the necessary consultancy to public and private institutions in promoting community contribution by the Dubai Endowment Sign, which helps build a range of community services that address the most important needs of the community through the active participation of institutions.
