Action For Relief to donate flea market funds to Syria refugees

Funds from Action For Relief's Al Safa Flea Market stall this weekend will go to Syria refugees

Dubai Funds collected at the Action For Relief's Al Safa Flea Market stall this weekend will go to the Red Crescent to support the many Syrian refugees in need, said Mohammad Atif, founder of Action for Relief.

"We are trying to use our time and energy in a positive way for those in need. We have found Dubai residents extremely supportive with providing physical materials, providing unwanted possessions, books, DVDs, clothes and so on for sale at Al Safa Flea market. We have also been surprised how some people are also donating their time and coming out to support us. We think the recent regional unrest has awoken awareness of the suffering of others," said Atif.

Action for Relief, a charity volunteer group in Dubai, has been formed to support the Red Crescent's efforts to buy supplies in unstable countries such as Syria. Atif said Dh10,300 was raised at the stall last month.
