Sharjah: Two Asian men died and six other persons suffered injuries in an accident involving two vehicles on Maliha Road in Sharjah on Friday morning, police said.
The deceased included an Indian and a Filipino.
The injured included five Filipinos and a Pakistani man.
Police said that the driver of one of the vehicles lost control of his car, sending it crashing into another vehicle, before ramming a concrete barrier.
The age of the deceased and the injured ranged between 20 and 30 years.
The bodies of the deceased were moved to Al Dhaid Hospital.
An official at Al Dhaid Hospital told Gulf News that they received six injured persons, and five of them were discharged after receiving treatment.
The case has been referred to the public prosecution.
Meanwhile, in another incident, an Arab woman sustained moderate injuries when she lost control of her vehicle which rammed a lamppost in Al Tawoun area in Sharjah on Thursday.
The woman was moved to a hospital for treatment.
Sharjah Police have urged all motorists to drive carefully and adhere to speed limits.
