Dubai: An additional 1,300 parking spaces have been added to Mall of the Emirates parking as part of a slew of 2015 redevelopment projects worth Dh1 billion.
An important part of the Evolution 2015 strategic redevelopment project by Majid Al Futtaim is focused on the redevelopment, expansion and enhancement of the parking facilities. It will see the overall ambience, directional signage, pedestrian access and lighting significantly upgraded, including other renovations aimed to enhance visitors’ experience.
With the new parking deck on level 4 with rooftop shade protection and direct access to the mall, the total parking space in Mall of the Emirates can now accommodate up to 7,200 cars.
Additionally, works on the ground floor parking area are now complete, with upper levels fully available, along with a new taxi rank allowing 40 additional taxis to be located at Welcome Court 4.
Fouad Mansoor Sharaf, Senior Director, Property Management, Shopping Malls for Majid Al Futtaim Properties, said the most important part of the project is the enhancement of the parking facilities by providing additional spaces and refreshing the existing car parking areas.
This became a focus for Majid Al Futtaim after extensive research and shoppers’ feedback.
