Abu Dhabi: A total of 1,073 fines and warnings have been issued to motorists in the capital for failing to keep their cars clean, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality said in a press release issued on Sunday. The cars were found across the outskirts of the city, including in Mussaffah, Shahama and Wathba areas during recent inspections.

The municipality urged motorists to tend to their vehicles. Otherwise, inspectors will issue a warning and if the car is still not cleaned within three days, it will be towed away. Thereafter, the owner will have to pay a Dh3,000 fine, along with impound yard fees, to retrieve the vehicle.
