While the famous golden arches may be ubiquitous for its McNuggets, Big Macs and fries, what is less well known is McDonald’s UAE’s high levels of employee satisfaction.

From a sense of inclusion and numerous stories of career progression to an enjoyment of work events, training and the camaraderie between colleagues, staff at McDonald’s UAE have shared insights into why it’s a great place to work.

In addition to employee endorsements, McDonald’s UAE has also received independent recognition for its attributes as a workplace.

Following analysis by Great Place to Work Middle East, McDonald’s UAE was certified as a Great Place to Work for 2021. McDonald’s UAE was also recently recognised as the fifth best place to work in the UAE out of 50 prestigious companies by the same organisation.

The Great Place to Work award was in recognition of the fair treatment of employees and an inclusive environment that supports employees and makes for a great place to work.

The leading quick service restaurant recognises the importance of employee satisfaction and gives it the same importance as consumer satisfaction. It does this by creating a work environment that promotes cultural diversity, inclusion, collaboration and engagement. More than 5,000 team members benefit from this focus.

Recognition as a 'Great Place to Work' was secured through an anonymous survey of employees by the organiser’s 'Trust Index.' This comprehensive survey looked at management, work culture, employee engagement and job satisfaction and also took into account findings from a questionnaire for management - the Culture Brief. McDonald's UAE was awarded the title due to excellent feedback.

Commenting on the certification, Walid Fakih, CEO at McDonald's UAE, said, “We strive to create the best possible environment for our employees as we recognise the immense value they bring to our business. By empowering our teams and providing them with growth opportunities, we have been driving equality and inclusion in our business over the past year and are delighted to receive this recognition. We will continue to foster trust, pride, joy and solidarity among our employees and build on our foundation as a great place to work.”
