Baywatch star David Hasselhoff once beat his estranged wife Pamela Bach breaking her nose, it was claimed on Friday.

The actor, 53, also allegedly launched foul-mouthed tirades against Bach, 58, who also acted in Baywatch, and threatened to drive a car through the house, take her jewellery and sell it.

The claims are in papers filed to a Los Angeles court which are the basis of a restraining order granted against Hasselhoff.

Restraining order

The couple are divorcing after 16 years and both seek custody of their two teenage daughters.

Hasselhoff was ordered this month to stay 100 yards away from Bach and her home, except for "peaceful" visits to the children, and to give up any firearm in his possession.

In response, Hasselhoff claimed Bach had abused prescription and illegal drugs, and that he was once afraid to leave the girls with her.

His requests, for the children's custody to be evaluated by a professional and that Bach keep away from him, were granted.
