Sony, the Japanese electronics behemoth has been one of the biggest forces to reckon with in the digital world for decades now. After revolutionizing the way we listen to music with their iconic Walkman, the company made its mark in the world of computing, telecom, photography and gaming.

This week, Sony surprised visitors to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas by unveiling a concept electric car! Dubbed Vision-S, and built in collaboration with Magna Steyr, Nvidia, Continental, Bosch, ZF, and Qualcomm, it is claimed to have performance figures to match its sexy looks. Apparently it can do 0-100kph in just 4.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 240kph. However, as of now, it strictly remains a concept with no plans announced for production.

However, as a marketing ploy to draw attention to Sony’s cutting edge sensor technology as well as offering a glimpse of what the future of mobility looks like, it has worked superbly. This is one electric saloon we hope goes into production.
