Parties woo independents
Pakistan's secular political parties launched intense horse-trading yesterday, wooing independents and Islamic parties in a bid to capture a majority in the hung parliament even as hardline Islamic parties which have emerged as potential coalition partners after the general elections said yesterday they would seek to impose Islamic law and ask U.S. troops to leave.
