Being one of the main connecting roads between Al Wahda Road and the rest of Sharjah, King Faisal Street is very busy at any time during the day.

It has service lanes on the sides that connect the adjoining neighbourhoods to the main street. There are many exits from King Faisal Road to the service lanes and vice versa but all these exits are strictly one way and they are clearly marked with a ‘no entry’ sign on the appropriate side.

In one of the exits in front of a bakery shop, the pole carrying the ‘no entry’ sign broke and fell off a few days ago, and the broken pole has been completely removed from the spot. A new pole carrying the traffic sign has not yet been erected. Now, this exit is operating without any traffic sign thus causing a great deal of confusion to the motorists. Most of the drivers are used to this exit and they are well aware that this exit permits entry from the service lane to the main road and not vice versa. But in the absence of a no entry sign board (or any sign board) the exit is confusing the drives who are driving on the main street.

This has resulted in many accidents over the past few days in addition to traffic chaos.

Through this community report, I would like to highlight this issue to the concerned authorities and request them to install the correct traffic sign on this exit immediately.
