United against violence... US actor Johnny Depp was given a restraining order on Friday after his wife, Amber Heard appeared in court with a black eye. Pictures of her have gone viral and Twitter users have started a hashtag to support her and unite against domestic abuse.

#ImWithAmber / #AmberHeard — Twitter users use these hashtags to discuss the couple’s divorce, Depp’s abuse and to hit back at those that claim that Heard is lying, even after her pictures went viral.

@SaraSampaio: “The way women get shamed when they confess abuse is horrible and so inadmissible! #imwithamber”

@empirekendalI: “In a world where we collectively hate abusers, people still find excuses for them and blame the victim #ImWithAmber”

@ST0RMPlL0TS: “When abuse victims stay silent, they are blamed and called cowards. When they speak up, they are blamed and called liars #ImWithAmber”

KatyGilroyBlog: “#ImWithAmber because women should be able to safely call out their abusers, no matter who they are.”

@lovelyforests: “The world wonders why women don’t speak up about domestic violence and then denigrate a woman when she does. #ImWithAmber #WeStandWithAmber”

@katiechironis: “Abusers almost never seem like “the kind of person who would abuse” in public. It’s a dark & private side of them. #AmberHeard”

@absolutewannabe: “Standing with #AmberHeard. Just because someone is famous or “seems nice” doesn’t mean he/she isn’t guilty. Believe those who speak out.”

@SunshineDze: “I’m so proud of #AmberHeard. She did everything right, documented everything. Witness her bravery.”

@LovesClassics: “It’s NEVER okay to hit a woman, no matter how rich and famous you are! #AmberHeard #JohnnyDepp”

@Wisdomcounselor: “#AmberHeard Ladies and gentlemen, domestic violence is not ok. It’s an ugly scar that we cannot cover. Pay attention to the signs and be true to #U!”

@thatcheesysmell: “Anyone who has experienced abuse knows the face of pain. People still don’t believe it with photo proof? #AmberHeard”

@chrissysnickerz: “Abuse is a serious matter. Don’t call someone a liar, gold-digger, or attention seeker when they’re brave enough to speak up. #ImWithAmber”

@21feminist: “#ImWithAmber victims shouldn’t have to be scared to speak up about their abuse. Stop silencing victims. We hear you Amber.”
