Ehi Iden: “World Heart Day is 29th September every year, this is celebrated across many countries and regions of the world.
As we celebrate this day, it is important we all embrace a smart and cost effective approach to healthcare. We must all know our numbers (your blood pressure) - walk into any hospital, pharmacy or health centre and ask for your blood pressure to be checked. Let’s reduce intake of food high in cholesterol. Reduce your salt intake - salt is only a condiment without any nutritional value, embrace exercise, modify your lifestyle and dietary pattern, avoid fried food as much as you can. Eat colourful fruits and vegetables. If we do not eat our food as medicine, we will eat our medicine as food. We can help save our hearts.
Let’s join our hands together to promote this message. Help us share if you can. #worldheartday2016
