According to Syrian TV reports at least 400 people in Palmyra were killed by Daesh militants. Opposition activists said that hundreds of bodies of government loyalists were found lying in streets after the historic city was seized by on Wednesday. Tweeps shared concern for the situation in Palmyra and emphasised the need to stop Daesh.
