Analysing the price of change... The UAE government’s recent decision to deregulate fuel prices from August 1, had social media users debating the advantages and disadvantages of its impact on daily life. A fuel price committee has been set up in the country, to review prices against average international levels prior to their implementation in the UAE every month. At this time, the extent to which petrol prices will increase is unclear. However, many social media users expect the change to discourage people from using their cars and instead, opt for greener options like carpooling and hybrid vehicles.
