Donald Trump gave a statement saying that the US and India would be best friends if he were to become president. The man is running a bitterly fought campaign and, as of now, he will say anything to get that vote! The Indian media is overwhelmed and I believe that if they could, they would elect him president today. I doubt the man even knows the kind of terrorism or terrorists that India is dealing with today. Terrorism for politicians has become a powerful tool to frighten their own citizens and, above all, garner votes and support.

The same worn out plot thickens once again in Indian politics as state elections in several large states came to a close. Terror and terrorism became the two key words as a tired nation is dragged into nationalism and patriotism.

Jobs are at a five year low. There is a restlessness right across the country as people feel betrayed and let down once again by a government they had hoped would at least try and lead by economic sustenance. Instead of addressing these pressing issues, why is the country being dragged into issues involving terrorism? Let Prime Minister Narendra Modi prove his statesmanship and contain it. The government and the army have to deal with infiltration and terror as they think best.

There are issues far more pressing like livelihoods for the millions in this country of young, bright individuals raring to go. Farmers despondency, the horrific atrocities on the tribals and on the millions of voiceless, faceless faces of our country. More lives are lost by the government neglecting these core agendas than by terrorist attacks - far, far more.
