According to tigerday.org: “Right now, the number of wild tiger is at its lowest ever! We have lost 97% of all wild tigers in a bit over 100 years”. 2013 reports confirmed that there were as few as 3200 tigers left alive in the wild, but latest studies suggest that the number may have fallen to 3000. Many tiger species are already extinct. Tigers are vulnerable to extinction. Tiger.org warns: “At this rate, all tigers living in the wild could be extinct in 5 years!”

Tigers lost 93% of their natural habitat due to the expansion of cities and agriculture by humans, encroachment, poaching and climate change.
