It is unfortunate that Israel is continuously engaged in shelling and bombing in Golan Heights, Syria, alleging that some militants are hidden near the Syrian border. On this pretext, Israel has carried out several airstrikes in Syria, which resulted in heavy casualties of innocent civilians. In the recent past, Israeli military shot down a Syrian fighter jet in airspace over the Golan Heights. The Israeli’s aggression has created a dire situation for Syria, Lebanon and neighbouring countries. It has been the policy of Israel to invade peace loving countries to maintain supremacy in the region.
Since 2006, Lebanon has been ravaged with conflicts resulting in hundreds killed, nearly a half a million driven from their homes and vast damages to roads and bridges. At that time, Israel and the US took the plea that their ultimate aim was to fundamentally reshape Lebanon to end Hezbollah’s presence by the border, strengthen democracy in the country and ensure lasting peace with Israel. The same policy is being played in the case of Syria. It is time for Muslim countries to understand the ulterior motives of Israel who is not only committing war crimes, but also wants to utilise sophisticated weapons for mass destruction.
Israel has so far grossly committed human rights violations in Gaza and Al Quds, resulting in unrest among Muslims all over the world. The country is not only the breaker of peace in the Middle East, but also a blatant violator of various UN peace resolutions.
