Reading about Daesh and their massacres on a daily basis makes for a painful read. It must be a living hell for these unfortunate people, who are tossed from one place to another. It is like going from the frying pan into the fire! Nowadays, one shudders to open the newspaper in the mornings, only to read some heinous crime committed somewhere in the world!

Why are men destroying their fellow men, whom God has given equal opportunity to live on this beautiful Earth? Has mankind lost its humanity? What are the oppressed and the oppressors going to gain in the end? Nothing.

The opinions expressed by the experts, regarding the failure of humanity, are based on religious education, global warming and the inability of innocent people to understand the views of certain leaders. It is sad to see lives wasted because of a lack of tolerance and understanding. Can there be no solution to uplift them from living such miserable lives? If illiteracy is the root of all evils, then it should be eradicated as soon as possible. But this is not the case, because illiteracy does not just mean reading and writing. Emphasis should be on values — a forgotten trait.

Take a look at Japan and its people, who are steeped in values. The participants who did not make it to the World Cup finals left, but the Japanese team stayed despite losing and once the finals were over, the whole team cleaned up the stadium and then left for their home country! Only people instilled with a deep sense of values, such as respect, love and concern for others would make a happier world.

With that in mind, if children are imbibed with good values from the start, it will stand in good stead throughout their lives.

It is the need of the hour to combine efforts on all fronts, political and social, to bring about stability in the world and avoid such gruesome violent incidents, before it is too late to save mankind altogether.
