“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge,” wrote Albert Einstein.

After our parents, the people who most significantly impact our lives are our teachers. Teachers’ Day is an occasion to celebrate this unique role that gives power to shape young minds and thereby the future of a country.

Every year, World Teachers’ Day is observed on October 5.

For the occasion, I on behalf of students around the world, would like to thank our beloved life mentors. There are not enough words to express gratitude for all they do.

As Malala Yousafzai precisely said, “Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.”

Teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions. Our parents are responsible for giving us love and quality care, however our teachers are responsible for making a whole future bright and successful. Often, in many countries across the world, teachers are underpaid and overworked.

It takes a big heart to overlook such things and continue to help shape little minds. They are the source of inspiration, which helps us to go ahead and be successful. They make us strong and prepare us to withstand any obstacle in life.

A teacher can be a role model, a saviour and a friend.

Thank you for empowering the youth. Thank you for doing this vital work without expecting anything in return. You deserve to be celebrated much more.

Thank you to all those teachers, for their noble hearts, kindness, guidance and patience, which gives the young students like myself the confidence and courage to follow our dreams.

We carry forth what you taught us, in our minds, and also in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
