Selective reporting?

The writer of this article has reported of a demand by Opposition parties for the imposition of President’s Rule in Bihar (“Opposition seeks imposition of President’s Rule in Bihar”, Gulf News, May 16). I would like to know Gulf News’s stance on selective reporting. The newspaper conveniently ignored the triple murder case of Surat, Gujarat. This was a high profile case because the deceased was the brother of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Praveen Togadia.

The newspaper has also ignored the murder case of the deputy secretary who was investigating the Vyapam Scam in Madhya Pradesh.

When the newspaper has dedicated three pages for India, let us talk about all of India and not selective parts.

Gulf News’s stance is clear - it reports news. When the Opposition in Bihar demanded imposition of President’s Rule in the state, it was reported. That news was not incorrect.

Much as we would like to cover the entire length and breadth of India in the pages that are dedicated to the country, it is not always possible to do so due to space constraints. However, we take your feedback onboard and will try to give adequate representation to the other states as well.
