Dubai: If you thought burgers are plain junk or at best an over-the-counter affair, then Big Smoke Burger at BOXPARK will surely change your idea of a party-in-a-bun.
Founded as a 16-seater restaurant on Toronto’s King Street in 2007 before landing here in Dubai around last February, Big Smoke is not just big on taste but also on gourmet ingredients. So here the beef burger is not just scrumptious but also a lot healthier than many burgers in town as it’s made of AAA grade imported Canadian beef.
A good way to taste the high grade marbled meat is to order their ‘urban cowboy’, a relatively new addition to the menu, that’s made of crispy fried onions, smoked cheddar cheese and thin strips of Canadian beef bacon with ranch, tomato and lettuce for a juicy finish.
A perfect accompaniment would be either the hand-cut French or cajun fries or the slightly more sinful fries with bacon and ranch. Big Smoke’s best-selling side, however, is the poutine which is hand-cut fries topped with Quebec-style cheese curds and a homemade thick brown gravy.
That’s not all as Big Smoke makes a host of other great burgers without beef like the classic chicken burger, made of a fresh grilled chicken breast and topped with iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onions and the right mix of pickles, ketchup, mayonnaise and dijon mustard, or the signature lamb burger, built with imported Australian lamb, cilantro-feta mayo, tomato and lettuce.
Veggie options
The best part, of course, is that there’s a great deal of options for even the non-meat eaters and the craft burger made of sautéed mushrooms, rosemary garlic mayo and tomato lettuce comes highly recommended.
Once you are done with the big bites, you can end your meal with the homespun milkshakes or freshly brewed iced teas if not with one of their exclusive bottles of flavoured sugar cane juice.
