Dubai: The UAE national team will arrive in Bahrain on Thursday ahead of the start of the 21st Gulf Cup there from Saturday.

Mahdi Ali’s team will head to Manama in good spirits after back-to-back warm-up wins over Yemen, who they beat 2-0 and 3-1 during their training camp in Doha.

The UAE, who will compete in Group A alongside the hosts, Oman and Qatar, will arrive at 1pm before heading to the Diplomat Hotel, where they will be staying during the tournament that runs until January 18.

In Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Yemen, the goals came from Ahmad Khalil in the first half and Saeed Al Kathiri and Abdul Aziz in the final 15 minutes. In the first match between the sides last week, Amer Abdul Rahman and Omar Abdul Rahman scored to give the Whites victory.
