Burger & Lobster is coming soon!

This London-based restaurant group — which serves exactly what it says above the door — will open in the Burj Daman Building in Dubai International Financial Centre in January. They really are serious about the burger and lobster thing, by the way. The website’s answer to an FAQ on why there isn’t a menu on the website: “You can! We serve burger or lobster — take your pick.” We like the attitude. The beef is from the US, while the lobster is from the Canadian Atlantic. Stay tuned for more details.

A new restaurant at Emirates Towers

Mundo — meaning “world” — is serving four global cuisines at a 142-seat, lobby-level restaurant. The interactive, all-day dining spot aims to go beyond the buffet with live cooking stations, including ones serving street food from Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand and Macau. There is also Mediterranean, Arabic and Indian food on offer.

“The live cooking stations add an element of performance to dining at Mundo. It’s an interaction that transforms the conventional ‘buffet only’ interpretation of the all-day dining concept,” says head chef Ewart Wardhaugh. “Our mission is to engage diners in a sophisticated yet theatrical experience that redefines a classic genre.” Call 04-3300000.

Bistrot Bagatelle now open

The New York restaurant — which serves French Mediterranean cuisine — is now taking reservations for diners during its soft opening phase. To be one of the first to try the new spot at the Fairmont Dubai, call 04-3545035 or email reservations@bistrotbagatelledubai.com.

Aubaine is coming

There’s more French food on the way to Dubai this December. Aubaine — which is in fact London-based — is due to open at The Dubai Mall. It will have its own bakery, making bread and pastries and traditional French dishes, and will be open all day. There are 10 in the UK; this is the first international location.

It’s Chocolate Week

The Around the World Chocolate High Tea at La Farine pairs different chocolates with tea on November 19, 2-5pm, and is Dh140 per person (Dh250 per couple). A Kids’ Chocolate Masterclass is on November 21 at La Farine, 11am-12.30pm, Dh150 per child, including tea or coffee per parent. Call 04-4140000.
