Dubai: German football club St Pauli unveiled new striker Marvin Ducksch from Borussia Dortmund in what at first glances looked like a routine photo-op.

However after a second glance all is not as it seems.

Club owner Ewald Lienen was not around to formally welcome Ducksch to the Millerntor-Stadion, so instead the 22-year-old striker posed diligently alongside a man wearing a paper cut-out of Lienen's face.

The pictures were, as you would expect, posted on St Pauli's Twitter account and have been well received by football fans worldwide.

St. Pauli are no ordinary football club. They boast a sausage train which delivers bratwurst and drinks to supporters in the stands, two beehives installed at the stadium to highlight the plight of honey bees and, finally, a Jolly Roger flag above its stadium.
