Ajman. Super six tournament, a unique tournament organised by Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah (PSCS), turned out to be a huge success with Welkin Warriors emerging as the first champions of the event.

This tournament, organised as part of the 45th UAE National Day celebration, was held under the auspices of the Ajman Cricket Council with Red Bull as event title sponsors.

In the final, held under floodlights at the Ajman Mumbai Cricket Club ground, Welkin Warriors defeated Asian Stallions by 22 runs.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Welkin posted a challenging 87 runs in six overs.

Chasing the total, Asian Stallions could muster only 65 runs in their allotted six overs.

This format, which is well known in Hong Kong and is popularly known as Hong Kong Sixes tournament, was welcomed by all teams that participated in the tournament.

For the first edition sixteen teams took part and it was held over three days with a total number of 27 matches being played.

Amjad Iqbal, who visualised this tournament and has organised many cricket events in the UAE, lauded the support from the huge crowd who cheered the teams with drum beats and music.
