Ajman: Shoun Roger cracked an unbeaten century and an unbeaten half-century to guide Our Own English High School Sharjah into the semi-finals of the Elite School League, conducted by Robin Singh Sports Academy, at Ajman MCC ground.

Roger’s 67-ball knock took Our Own to a stiff total of 168 for one, which proved too high for Emirates Future, who were all out for 75.

Roger also had hit an unbeaten 51 to help Our Own defeat Al Sadiq Islamic English School by ten wickets to enter the quarter-finals of the knockout tournament.

Tight bowling by school cricketers was witnessed during the latter stages of the league. Harshit Seth’s five-wicket haul enabled Gems Modern Academy outwit Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School Sharjah by four wickets in the other quarter-final.

Earlier, Nikhil Menon’s three-wicket haul conceding no runs enabled Bright Riders School Abu Dhabi bundle out Gems Winchester School Dubai for a paltry 42 while Adithya Shetty’s spell of four for nine helped Gems Modern Academy beat Dubai Scholars Pvt School by nine wickets.

Another two great spells were Nirmit Patel’s four for 16 and Ishit Patel’s four for 25, which helped Emirates Future International School defeat Central School by 26 runs.

Meanwhile, Robin Singh Sports Academy will organise a three-day high performance camp for selected boys from the Elite School League. Those selected will be announced by Vipul, Consul General of Indian Consulate Dubai, after the final of the tournament on Friday.
