Dubai. Cricketers in Dubai before their year end celebrations played intense cricket through indoor and outdoor cricket.

While ICC Academy staged their indoor cricket Bronze Cup final, the Dubai Cricket Council organised the Dubai Mammoths tournament at 7he Sevens ground.

Renegades defeated Park N Shop to lift the Bronze Cup. They made a brilliant start with the opening pair Aniket P (12) and Sargar H (13) putting on 25 runs. The next pair of Soloman P (3) and Nikhil N (8) made a decent contribution before the final pair of Arshad M (13) and Asif H (9) added a crucial 22 runs to ensure Renegades achieved 63.

Park N Shop started well with Lloyd D (11) in the company of Sunil L (8) putting on 19 runs. The next pair of Mohit M and Rahul K added only nine runs before Rajesh V (9) and Lalit S (6) added another 15 runs. Brilliant bowling from Sargar H with four wickets tilted the match and restricted Park N Shop to 30. Sagar won the man of final award while Sunil L from Park N Shop bagged the player of the tournament award.

The Mammoths tournament produced an exciting match with Nad Al Sheba (NAS) Mammoths beating Jumeirah Mammoths by just five runs. Abid Chaudhury was the architect of the victory through a quick 61 from 28 balls. Deepak Patel proved how dangerous he can be with his tight bowling that ripped through the gates of Devrajan Srinivasan and Lucky Abbas, both out for naughts, to hit the stumps.

Bobby Suri removed Naeem Mohammad (12) and Abhay Chawan (13) to leave NAS tottering at four for 55.

At this moment, Qais Farooq (41) and Yuvraj Kurup (35) put on a 64-run partnership. After both departed Chaudhury, took charge and clobbered five towering sixes and two fours to post 194 for seven.

Jumeirah fought back with Manal Siddiqui (40), Sheldon D’Cruz (36), Sujit Salian (27) and Vijay Mehra (22) but fell short by six runs.

In another match Zabeel Mammoths sailed past Dubai Red Knights by seven wickets.
