Dubai: Golden Tower Metal Industries teams stood tall among their opponents to win the third Hologram Premier 25-over tournament, defeating Hologram Players by six wickets.

The tournament, organised by Umm Al Quwain Cricket Association on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board under the auspices of the Ajman Cricket Council, produced superb preformances from domestic cricketers.

The star among them was Man of the Final was Mohammad Boota who cracked 71 to chase Hologram’s total of 173 for seven in 25 overs. Golden Tower reached the target in 19.5 overs losing only four wickets.

After winning the toss, Hologram opener Vishnu K. Sukumaran scored a 31-ball 34 from six boundaries. Despite a few quick wickets falling, Ali Ahmad scored a crucial 36 from 32 deliveries to help Hologram post 173 for seven in 25 overs.

It was a difficult target to chase but Golden Tower opener Adnan Arif gave a whirlwind start with an innings of 46 runs from 26 balls. Boota then smashed a 48-ball 71 with two boundaries and seven sixes.

In Al Ain, Zeeshan Khan’s 45-ball century helped Welkin Cricket Club win a high scoring match against RAH Cricket Club in the Durham-UAE oragnised Al Faraa Corporate T20 League cricket tournament at the Al Ain Sportplex ground.

The tournament, held under the auspices of the Al Ain Cricket Council, saw Welkin post 265 for seven in 20 overs through Zeeshan’s 113 runs with 11 sixes and four boundaries. S. Ghafour too hit an unbeaten 52 off just 19 balls with three sixes and seven fours. In reply, RAH made a valiant attempt but could score only 224 runs for six at the end of the allotted 20 overs.

Meanwhile in Umm Al Quwian, Aen Dubai, ANIB XI on Top, Titans Club and Shehzad Club entered the quarterfinals of the second Car Fare Rent A Car T-20 League.

Bilal Irshad cracked 79 to ensure Titans a six-wicket win over Developing Establishment. ANIB XI was put on top by Prajval Poojary who produced a deadly spell of 4 for 14 against SPR Reality.
