Sharjah: Top four teams that produced excellent performance throughout the 43rd edition of the Bukhatir Premier League at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium have reached the semi-finals.
United Bank Limited (UBL), Globelink Weststar Shipping, Alubond Tigers and Multiplex Internationals will battle for a place in the final.
UBL defeated New Medical Centre (NMC) by four wickets to clinch their place among the last four, while Globelink WestStar beat Fly Emirates by five wickets for their place in the semi-final.
Multiplex International scored an emphatic 103 runs win over Sharjah Cricket Club to move to semi-final while Alubond Tigers followed by crushing One Stop Tourism by 128 runs. UBL will now take on Globelink in the first semi-final while Alubond will meet Multiplex.
In the clash of the Abu Dhabi teams, UBL had to really fight hard to beat NMC. Fayyaz Ahmad, of NMC hit a century but his knock went in vain.
Meanwhile, UAE player Fayyaz Ahmad, playing for Alubond Tigers, sparkled against One Stop Tourism with an unbeaten 45 and taking two wickets. Speaking to Gulf News after his all-round show, Fayyaz said: “Last two overs I hit over 40 runs to ensure my team get a total of over 300 runs. I also took the prize wicket of Rohan Mustafa (UAE captain) to ensure the victory.”
Globelink extended their winning run stopping Fly Emirates while Multiplex displayed their batting might against Sharjah Club piling up 330 for 6 in 50 overs.
