Dubai: Three deadly four-wicket spells were the highlight of the ninth edition of the Maxtalent Global Sports Vision Cup interschool tournament, being held under the aegis of the Sharjah Cricket Council at the Skyline University Cricket Ground.

In the Under-13 category Raunak Pandey, of Cambridge International School Dubai, produced a haul of four wickets for 24 runs while Sri Vignesh, of Indian High School Dubai, took four wickets for just seven runs.

Pandey’s left-arm spin helped Cambridge pull off a shock win over favourites Sharjah Indian School to ensure a semi-final berth while Vignesh ensured Indian High School Dubai whipped Leaders Private School by 162 runs. Vignesh’s spell helped Indian High School bundle out Leaders Private School for just 52 runs after his team batting first had posted 214 runs.

The Under-17 category of the tournament saw Nihal Mohammad take four wickets for 12 runs for Sharjah Indian School, but his effort went in vain as his team lost to Our Own High School Al Warqaa by one wicket.

Two three-wicket hauls from Sahil Sheikh and Kushal Deep helped Indian High School Dubai bowl out Elite English School by 44 runs and win the match by 154 runs.
