Dubai: B’ Team Charger (85) were crowned champions after beating Team Mahirs (42) by 43 runs in the second Lenovo Insportz Indoor Cricket League.

Thirty-two indoor cricket teams participated and competed in three divisions (B, C & D) in the league.

Batting first, Mahirs scored 42 runs in their allotted 16 overs. First pair Shiraz Rauf (-4) & Abhishek Nashta (6) struggled to face the good line and length bowling attack of Team Chargers and scored two runs in the first four overs.

The second pair Gautam Arora (7) and Owais Sonde (-15) tried to get runs but were restricted by the Chargers’ excellent fielding, scoring negative eight runs in their four overs. Kunal Wadhwani (9) and Aqil Shahzad (11) displayed skill in batting and scored 20 runs in their allotted four overs and played a major role in putting up a challenging score, supported by Sachin Talwar (23) and Ijaz Anwar (5), by adding 28 runs in the last four overs.

In response to Mahirs’ projected target, Team Chargers’ first pair Aqib Malik (7) and Pawan Devnanni (9) scored 16 runs in the first four overs. Second pair Siddharth Unithan (15) and Neeraj Bojwani (12) added 27 runs in their four overs, Third pair Kush Kataria (8) and Kunal Lachanni (16) scored 24 runs and the last pair Deepak Phulwani (10) and Sagar Mehta (8) made it to the victory by adding 18 runs in the last four overs.

They were supported by the deadly bowling attack of Pawan Devnani (who took 5 wickets for minus 15 runs), Siddharth Unithan (who took 4 wickets for minus 9 runs) and Sagar Mehta (who took 3 wickets for minus 6 runs) and played an important role in restricting their opponents.

Individual awards for Division ‘B’

Player of the tournament — Hemant of Hard Hitters — scored 84 runs, took 6 wickets for minus 9 runs.

Best Bowler — Yash Makar — Mahirs — took 10 wickets for minus 6 runs.

Best Batsman — Gautam Arora — Mahirs — scored 69 runs in the tournament.
