Ajman: The Ajman Cricket Council’s in T20 Super Cup final witnessed a stupendous batting performance by winners Ausaf XI team at the Ajman Zorah Ground.
Ausaf XI piled up a massive 349 for three in 20 overs to prove their batting strength and trash Singh Diesel by a massive 192 runs. The run-spree of the Ausaf XI was led by openers Yousuf Butt and Yaqoob Richie. Butt hit 95 runs and Richie scored 54 runs. They gave their team a breezy start piling up 115 runs in the first six overs. Butt’s 95 came off just 23 balls with 11 sixes.
Interestingly Singh Diesel had won the toss and elected to field and found themselves at the receiving end. After the thrashing from Butt and Richie, Zawar Ahmad scored 87 in 33 balls. If that was not enough, experienced hard hitter Salman Randhawa scored 76 off 21 balls with nine sixes.
In reply, Singh Diesel were bowled out for 157 runs in 14.1 overs. M. Rashid and Pervez Khan took four wickets each. M Zeeshan fought a lone battle with 49 runs.
Yusuf Butt was adjudged Man of the Final while M. Rafaqat Of Scitra Club with 215 runs and 11 wickets won the Player of the Tournament award. Syed Kamal of Roaring Tigers, who scored 347 runs, won the best batsman award, while Shafaqat Boss with 15 wickets won the best bowler award.
In the 43rd Bukhatir Premier League, UAE batsmen Laxman Sreekumar and Shaiman Anwar went on a rampage — cracking centuries to help Sharjah Cricket Club trounce My Perfumes by 255 runs. Sreekumar cracked 150 runs while Anwar scored 118 runs to help Sharjah post 388 for six in 50 overs and bowled out My Perfumes for 133 in 31.4 over. UAE spinner Ahmad Raza bagged three wickets for 21 runs.
