Abu Dhabi: The world’s top triathletes got their first taste of Abu Dhabi’s crystal blue waters this morning as they went through a swimming familiarisation session at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit, ahead of this weekend’s ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi 2018. Diving off into the Yas Marina in front of the iconic Yas Viceroy hotel, the elites could be seen laughing and joking with their fellow competitors ahead of the season opener, which will see 2,500 elite and age-group participants descend on the capital for the biggest triathlon event in the Middle East.
After the swimming, the athletes tested the track as part of a cycling familiarisation session.
Fans can watch the world’s best go head-to-head in the free-to-enter Event Village at Yas Marina Circuit from 1.30pm on Friday afternoon.
