Melbourne: Top-seeded Roger Federer has won his second-round match at the Australian Open, beating Romania's Victor Hanescu 6-2, 6-3, 6-2.
Britain's Prince William, who was visiting Australia, watched from the VIP section as Federer won in straight sets. The No. 1-ranked Federer hit 83 percent of first serves in and wrapped up the match in 1 hour, 39 minutes.
At last year's Australian Open, Federer left the Rod Laver Arena in tears after losing the final to Rafael Nadal.
Federer has won three of his record 15 Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open and has a 49-7 record at Melbourne Park.
