Abu Dhabi: The deadline for entering this year’s Mubadala Community Cup, the winner and runner-up of which can participate in a tennis clinic with Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, ends on Thursday (November 8). The clinic with the superstars will take place on the sidelines of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, to be held at the UAE capital in end-December.
This year’s Mubadala Community Cup starts on Friday (November 9) in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and matches will be held in eight locations on November 9, 10, 23 and there are still spaces left in the Under 16 age category.
After the success of last year’s community initiative, the Mubadala Community Cup is already heavily subscribed in many age groups and event organisers.
John Lickrish, CEO of FLASH Entertainment. “For anyone who plays tennis in the UAE, this is the dream opportunity and prize. The love for tennis is definitely growing and we look forward to welcoming new faces and fresh talent on to the court this year.
The Mubadala World Tennis Championship really comes to life through this community engagement which makes the Championship so much more than a spectator event. No other tournament in the world gives fans the chance to get so close and learn from their tennis idols and this opportunity really drives competition within the community.”
Players at each event of Mubadala Community Cup will compete to secure one of only 60 spots at one of the four exclusive star player clinics taking place at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex, Zayed Sports City during the Mubadala Championship. The event is open to all age groups from eight-years-old through to adults, with players’ fields being divided to five age groups: Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 and adults’ and mixed doubles.
