Dubai: One of the top sailing officials in the country expects Team Sea Dubai to climb up the rankings as it participates in the penultimate round in the 2010 RC 44 World Sailing Championships in Lanzarote, Canary Islands.

"The Team Sea Dubai has done well to promote Dubai in places that are hubs in the world of sailing. I now expect them to make their way up the standings during the final race of the season," Saeed Hareb, Chairman and CEO, Dubai International Marine Club told Gulf News.

"Results are a part of any competition and we have to accept these based on how the team has fared so far. But maybe we are missing a bit of luck. Hopefully, we will have this luck return in Canary Islands," Hareb hoped.

The final round in Lanzarote will be the first-ever RC 44 race that has the official sanction from the world governing body for sailing, the International Sailing Federation.

Dubai-based Team Aqua skipper who is in second position overall has termed the fifth race as "the regatta of the year". Team Aqua is currently second overall, on a tie with both Pieter Heerema's Team No Way Back and Torbjon Tornqvist's Artemis.
