Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, on Tuesday issued a resolution appointing Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Chairman of the Dubai International Maritime Club.

The resolution, No 3 of 2013, which came into effect on Tuesday, was issued to ensure the club maintains its leading role and the continuation of exemplary work since it was established in 1988.

Shaikh Hamdan also issued Resolution No 4 of 2013, appointing Saeed Mohammad Hareb as Vice Chairman of DIMC.

Hareb told Gulf News that he was confident of consolidating the profile of watersports in the country. “My first task is to meet with Shaikh Majid and lay down a plan so that we can consolidate the growth of watersports in Dubai and the UAE,” he said.

“We can’t look too much ahead. We need to sit down and decide on a firm course of action so that our sport will benefit.”
