Abu Dhabi: Noura Al Ketbi clinched a silver in the women’s shot put F32 class to swell UAE’s medals tally to seven at the Paralympics Games in Rio.

Tunisia’s Maroura Brahmi stormed to the gold with a best throw of 5.76 metres. 

Noura threw a distance of 4.70 metres claim silver ahead of Australia’s Louise Ellery, whose managed 4.19 metres. This Paralympics is turning out to be UAE’s best ever performance. UAE’s pervious best show had come at the Athen Paralympics in 2004 when they bagged four medals. 

Earlier, Sara Al Senaani provide UAE with a bronze in the shot put F33 class. Sara’s throw of 5.09 was also her personal best. Algeria’s Asmahan Boudjadar took gold with a distance of 5.72 metres while Qatar’s Sara Hamdi Masoud took silver with a throw of 5.39 metres. 

“It’s disappointing but it’s not in our hands. Neither of us can do anything. She was very keen on coming and all plans were in place,” Shah told tabloid!. “But, as they, the show must go on. We will try and make up for it.”

The actress is currently working on Kahaani 2 and Begum Jaan.
