Dubai: If you see a Rolls Royce Phantom pulling out of Dubai Airport on Monday night take a look in the backseat and you’ll most probably find Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.

The eight division world boxing champion will be picked up in this impressive set of wheels when he arrives at terminal one from 6.45pm.

Pacman, as he’s better known, is in the emirates ahead of this weekend’s Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) matches at Al Wasl Club.

The 36-year-old Filipino fighter is player coach and owner of the Mahindra Enforcers PBA side who will play Alaska Aces in the Philippine Cup at Zabeel Stadium on Friday.

He’ll also meet fans at the Du Store at Dubai Mall on Wednesday and the Go Sports outlet at Mall of the Emirates on Thursday, before his departure on Sunday.

Special features aboard the Phantom include umbrellas which pop out of the reverse hinged back doors upon opening, not terribly useful here given the lack of rain but a masterstroke if he’s to shield himself from awaiting paparazzi.
